turpy defends home
We moved into a place on Walnut Street. Bud could walk to work. We lived there about a year. I put all the kids into school. Dorothy and Guss went to Junior high and Bobby and Eva went to grade school. It was at this place that a drunk came into the house and Turpy chased him out of the house. When Turpy came back he had a piece of cloth in his mouth. He must have bit that drunk.
mail man
Our dog Turpy would meet the mailman at the gate and the mailman would give him the mail and he would bring the mail to me. We had a new mailman one-day and Turpy would not let him in the yard to deliver the mail, I went out and told him to put it in his mouth that he would bring it to me. The mailman did. Turpy would play hide and seek with the kids. We would hold him until they all had hide and we would turn him lose and he would find every one of them. He would not let anyone look at Stanley in the baby carriage, if I was not near. Somebody poisoned him.
