moving the cow

Toots was in high school and I was going to give birth to Eva. So Bud and I just pack up everything we could get in the car and started out to Vernal. We left early in the morning, I was riding the horse with Johnny and Toots we were driving the cow down road and Bud took the car that was loaded and he went on to Vernal. I stayed with the kids. It took us three days to make that trip. Johnny and Toots would drive the cow and Bud would come along and I would get in the car and we would go load the car and we would come back and look for the kids and go on to Vernal and unload. One night we came back and could not find them, we hunted and hunted and it got dark, we decided to go on to Vernal. The kids slept out that night with those cows, out in the boondocks. We got up early the next morning and went back to find them. We pick them up and took them on into Vernal.

We had an old cat that we took with us. She went back to Rangely, could not find us there. He came back to Vernal. I do not know where that cat disappeared too, something must of caught him out in the pasture.
