to quit smoking
After we had passed Craig, Milton and Don decided that they were going to quiet smoking. Doris and Maggie was going to see which one would quiet first and so between them fighting and them bagging for their husband to quiet smoking, Maggie would not talk to Don for a week because she was wanted Don to promise that he would quiet, but he would not. I believe that if Doris and Maggie had left their husband alone, that they would have quiet smoking. Don and Milton never did quiet smoking after that. Milton did quiet smoking when he got older, when he got cancer.

We ran into some people that were catching wild horse and selling them. Milton traded one of his horses for a wild one; I still do not see why Milton did that. It was just like a desert out there, we had to go from one watering hole to another, we tried to hit the sheep camps along the way.
four-horse team
Milton got me up on his wagon and showed me how to drive a four-horse team. I used to do that until my arms just ached that broke the monotony of riding horseback and herding cow. And driving mama all the time. Nothing happens after we meet the people who were catching horse. We went on to Rangely.
Here is the route we took to get to Rangely. We left Cowley, by passed Lovell, by passed Greybull, by pass Basin. We stayed at Worland. We went through a canyon to get to Thermopolis. By passed Riverton, then to Rawlins. Stayed at Baggs, then we went on to Craig, Meeker, we followed the White River to Rangely
We get into Rangely about 3 o’clock in afternoon. Charlie was there to meets us. Some wanted to stay in Rangely. So mama and I get on our little buggy and went on up Douglas Creek to where papa was. Papa and Charlie were living in a tent and a lean too. We stayed in the tent until it was time for school started. Papa and mama decided to take the children to Fruita to school. So we went to Fruita to find a place to live and I was going to find a job there. We found a four-room brick house to live in.
