almost blown up
One night Bob and I decided to go to a show in Grand Junction, we did not know how much gas was in the tank. Bob lit a match to look in the tank to see how much gas there was. The fumes ignited boy, we could have been blown sky high, I throw my coat over the gas tank and put out the flames. We went on to Grand Junction to see the show. That was the closes call I had of being blown up.
forget the car
There was a Mexican boy that was staying at the ranch; he was about 5 years old. One day I walk out into the yard to call them into supper. The foreman was on a wagon with the rains in his hand and he was hitting the boy with them. The boy was bent over, trying to keep from getting hit. I walk over to him and told him to stop hitting the boy, he stop. They went into the house and ate their supper. I never had a car after that. I would not ask him for it.
The man that owned the ranch was trying to build a new house for his wife. He had a diagram that his wife had give him to go by. He pick up his wife from the hospital, she would not go into the house, she wanted to see the new house that was being built. So we all went down to see it. She got her diagram out to look at. The house was not being made like her diagram; she sure did give him hell about it.
He set there for a little while and then he jumps up and throws his hat on the ground, then started jumping up and down on it, I had to turn my head so he would not see me laughing.
I stayed about three days after she got home from the hospital. She told me that she was Brigham Young’s last wife. Thats what she said. I did not believe her. I did not like the woman.
