Bud came home one night and was excited, he said that him and Milton had a fight over some land, about 10 acres that Milton said was his. Papa told me later that Milton was wrong, that the land was on our homestead. Milton would not talk to me for about two years.

One time (I raised chickens) a chicken hawk keep coming down and was stealing the chicken, finally Johnny got the gun and he wanted me to go shoot the hawk. I did not want to and bagged off for awhile, finally I took the gun and shot the hawk dead. That was the first time I had ever hit any thing with the gun. That was the last I ever used the gun again.
