read to children
He worked in Denver for some time, He would read the funny paper to us on Sunday, tell us story at night before bed.

wood toys
One Christmas Daddy made Bobby and I some toys out of wood, Bobby get a set of Army vehicle, jeep, tank, etc. they all hook to together and I get the construction set, we had a lot of fun with those toys.

christmas
Around Christmas time when he came home he always brought with him all the loose change that he saved throughout the year and would use that to bye our Christmas present.

railroad
It seem that Daddy was always gone, he worked for the railroad and his job was going from one place to another fixed up depot, bridge, etc. He would come home every so often, I can not remember how often.

hitch hike to denver
I do not remember two much of daddy, but do remember when we went to Denver to see Daddy, we hitch hike our way into Denver, you can find out about that trip in Granny history.

After we moved into Denver to a place close to where Daddy work, when he came home from work he always left something in his lunch box for us kid to have. Then they bought the place at 4728 Brighton Blvd. We lived there a long time.

chicken coup
He was building a chicken coup, and there was a lot of wood inside of it, the roof was not on it yet, but just laying up there ready to put on, and I was up there walking around and fall through. To the lumber below, did not hurt my self, but it did scare me. Daddy scoled me for being up on the roof.

lumber
I remember him hurled in a large tree to cut up for firewood, him and Johnny sawing it up, the most of the tree was still there when we moved to Denver.

trailer
Then there was a trailer that he brought in, that we played on. We used that trailer to go way up in mountains to get trees for winter. On the way down the trailer push the car off the road and down and embankment. Granny and I had to walk to town to get help, while Daddy stayed with the car.

dig out basement
He digs the dirt out from under the back part of the house. He did that all by hand, he would laid up the wheel barrow and push it up the ramp and dump it into the back yard, I can remember taking him a Pepsi and watching him drink it down. The basement had two bedrooms in it. Later, one part was made into a kitchen and dinner room and the other a bedroom. He put a sink in it. He also made the garage in the backyard into a place that could be lived in; he put in water, and run the pipe out to the sewer line. He put a bathroom in the shed that was for keeping wood for the house, it never worked out, it would freeze up in the winter, so they had to used the bathroom in the house.

ice skate
We had three lots on the place and in the wintertime Daddy would run water in part of the backyard, so it would freeze, and the kids could ice skate, daddy was very good at ice skating, and he taught his kid how to do it. He also taught the kid how to box and to do gymnast.

quaranteened
Stanley had Whooping cough and we were quarantined to the house, we all had to go down to Denver General and have our blood tested, Daddy had to go down and have it done also. He was also quarantined to the house, but he had to get back to work, he left anyway.

Granny divorce Daddy and she remarried, Daddy kept working for the railroad, traveling. Then he gets sick. He moved into the garage in the back yard. He woke up one morning and ask me to take him to the hospital, which I did, I went on to school, and that night when we went down to see him the doctor said that he has past away.

If you read through. Grandpa Preston Duncan history and Granny you will find a lot more on Daddy.
